Daredevil: noun a reckless person who enjoys doing dangerous things.

Contrary to what many believe, I do not enjoy dangerous things and I strive to avoid recklessness. As I suggest frequently in our school presentations, I am a problem solver rather than a risk taker. A problem solver can do everything a risk taker does with more success and fewer setbacks as well.

Why then will I rappel for the third time off the Brady-Sullivan tower in downtown Manchester, NH on August 17? It’s simple. There has been considerable problem solving on the process for how to do this, to manage the risks into a reasonable range and to allow this event to highlight the United Over the Edge theme while on the way to supporting many worthy causes at a critical time for our communities.

This is what inspired a fun little public service video we shared earlier and offer to you once more:

Support Over the Edge with a donation here.

We go “over the edge” on Tuesday, August 17, so the time is now to give a little encouragement, share the opportunity for support or if you can, make a donation. I certainly recommend the support to the many charities represented by so many caring individuals. As I mentioned in the video above, we are serving communities in need, people who do not have the support lines we’ll have as we go over the edge, so every bit of support makes a difference in helping them with life challenges which have them on an equally precarious edge. The beauty is, when we live united, great things do happen. So give a word of encouragement, share the message if you can, and as always a donation can go a long way.

Give me just a little encouragement and perhaps I’ll go over the edge in my Daredevil costume as well… just not reckless or for the danger, but for all the good I believe we can accomplish!
