Black lab lies on a white blanket on the floor and gnaws on a bone.Randy is out on the West coast, and we are pleased to share that he met his new Guide Dog today! It’s best described in this note from Randy’s wife Tracy:

I’m excited to announce that Randy and I are now the proud parents of a 32-month old male black lab. He’s a pretty big boy between 65 and 70lbs and he has that characteristic big head of an English lab.

He loves belly rubs and is both patient and energetic.

We had an interesting / fun request from Guide Dogs for the Blind about sharing his name so we are holding off doing so publicly. GDB wants to be 100% sure it is the right match so no puppy raisers are disappointed if Randy needs to be matched with another pup.

Randy and "Buddy" kneel on next to a window, with Randy looking and smiling at the camera. We enthusiastically agree with that reasoning, so it will be about a week before we can share his name — for now I’m calling him “Buddy.”
