A group shot of Fitness University volunteersThe Gate City Striders are gearing up to have their 20th year of Fitness University, an amazing program that promotes fitness, fun, and good health for children ages 3 to 14 in the Nashua area. We hold running clinics every Tuesday beginning June 18 through July 31 at Nashua High School South.  Each session begins at 6pm and involves games and exercises that promote fitness, as well as time on the track for each age group.  The season is capped with a fun final session that involves a “race” for each age group that ends with a medal for each child.

Fitness University is free to all children, and that is made possible with the help of community sponsors and volunteers. Volunteers do everything from manning water stations to helping the kids in the various age groups with their races and activities throughout the sessions. Group leaders and helpers work with their respective age group and engage the kids in various activities that promote fitness and fun. Our volunteers help make Fitness University an amazing experience for all of our kids and allow us to continue to provide this program free of charge.

We are looking for more people to join our great group as volunteers for any or all of the clinics. We are looking for people to help with each of the age groups to make sure that each child has fun and enjoys their time with us!
