Come share in the fun of the many diverse events during the week of Monday July 22 through Sunday, July 28! We have planned special activities and surprises in addition to the usual happenings planned as part of the celebration of our partnership with Boston Billiard Club & Casino at 55 Northeastern Blvd., Nashua, NH 03062.
Obviously we are thrilled they have selected our charitable mission to receive the significant financial support of their efforts. We also appreciate the opportunity to have a week of events our friends can choose to sign up for and join with us. Some of these are time-sensitive so don’t delay — sign up now and be part of the fun directly. (Although you are always welcome to attend many aspects of the events even if a particular event may fill up.)
Monday, July 22: Gate City Strider Post Trail Race Appreciation
Many know that I’m a proud member of the Gate City Striders, Nashua’s running club. Each Monday evening in the summer, I sit atop the hill for the 5-mile race and point the runners towards the downhill home stretch. My duties finish around 7:40 pm and Autumn will guide me directly to Boston Billiard Club & Casino with a hearty appetite for a bite, beverage, and promotional book delivery. I’ll have a few copies of See You at the Summit with me and a few random drawings for a personalized copy. The first will go to anyone who has run the race, volunteered, is a fellow Strider, or wearing Strider gear. I hope many Striders may join me as we launch our week!
Tuesday, July 23 – Paint Your Pet!
We are talking about my painting on canvas not on poor Autumn’s fur. I will, however, be attempting to make a portrait of my beautiful girl. Our host artist for the evening is certain she can guide me through the process and all of you who sign up as well. She requests you send an advanced picture of your pet so she can help prepare.
Thursday, July 25: Craps Training and a Scotch Tasting
This night offers a double bonus as we begin with a select group of up to 15 friends who join me from 5-6 for a training session on how a craps table works. I’ve never played, but have heard that the more people around a table the more fun the experience, so I’ll gather a group in advance for a little complimentary training. The table officially opens at 6:00 pm for any and all who want to take the training knowledge into real world experience. I’ll roll the dice and rely on your eyes to help me out along the way. I have a curfew though, as I must be ready for stage 2 at 7 pm.
I have been asked to host the monthly whiskey tasting, which means it will be a Scotch tasting to play to my strengths. I’ll don my kilt for the occasion as we take to the back room with those who have signed up to sample a trio of favorite single malts with a little of the story behind them.
Sunday, July 28: Cornhole Tournament/Challenge
This is the most informal of our options as I delight in the popular back-yard/tailgate game of cornhole. Whether the challenge will be matching a round against my partner and me at tossing the beanbags or an actual tournament will have to be weather dependent. Either way, I’ll be present on Sunday afternoon and hoping for the opportunity. As always I’ll keep a few books on hand and if you hear/see our Tough Mudder video play on the screens, you might want to hasten over to me and see if a personalized copy of See You At The Summit is available.
This is an incredible week for us and for the mission we work so hard to support all year. We have a great chance to just spend some quality time having fun and relaxing with our community as we celebrate the partnership with Boston Billiard Club & Casino. We hope you’ll be joining us for some of the experiences.
Autumn is eager to be given the off duty option to greet her fans as well if you’ll remember to ask at an appropriate time. After all, she’s a key part of all our celebrations and partnerships.
