I launched our educational outreach in grand fashion on August 22 with a pair of presentations to the entire incoming freshman class at Keene State University’s orientation program. While a step closer to a keynote for these higher level students, the objectives for me were reasonably clear and yet the principles were the same as ever for our mission.
I invite the students to take a journey with me, enticing them to open their minds to invest in themselves with courage and the confidence that the methods and tools used in my own transitions can apply to their lives in positive and powerful ways.
“Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.”
I’m proud of the excellent responses from students, teachers, and administrators through the years evidenced best through the many invitations to return year after year to many schools. I appreciate the volunteers who help coordinate these school visits, drive me to the opportunities, and of course those who refer us for the initial visits. We have an ambitious goal to present to more than 100,000 students before the end of our 2020 calendar year.
This goal is well within reach and with our calendar filling up steadily, I’m hopeful. Still, I encourage each of you to consider referring us to a school you feel would be an appropriate fit for a visit. Please consider sharing our “For Educators” page which highlights how to schedule a visit to a school and climb towards our goal.
September brings us back to the basecamp for our climb and we hope you’ll help us carry the pack a little bit on this journey!
